Roadmap to navigating Real Estate on the Kenai Peninsula
Are there wetlands?
An area is wetlands if it meets these criteria: plant type, soil type, and depth to the water table. An area covered with trees and grasses may in fact be a wetland depending on the soil and depth of the water table. The Army Corps of Engineers regulates wetlands. Maps of some surveyed areas are available
at the City of Homer Planning Office. ACOE staff is friendly and knowledgeable - if you have questions, give them a call! (907) 283-3519

Who maintains my road?
Southern Kenai Peninsula roads are either the City of Homer, Kachemak City, the Kenai
Peninsula Borough or the State of Alaska. The Public faciclities clears some roads within incorporated areas. Other roads may not maintaind at all.

State Roads: (907) 235-5217
Borough Roads: (907) 262-4427
